The Gillespie Ranch has historically been utilized as successful cow/calf and equine operation originally owned by the Fisher Family.

HISTORY: Older than Oklahoma – This ranch story dates prior to Oklahoma statehood.  Dr. Jonas Fisher M.D. started laying the groundwork for this historic ranch on April 22, 1889, by staking his claim on land in Oklahoma County in the original Oklahoma Land Run of 1889. His son, Roy Fisher Sr., continued to expand the family’s land and commercial cattle operation that lasted over 5 generations and boasting over 60 years history of American Quarter Horse breeding.  The ranch is now owned by philanthropic businessman Mr. Lloyd Gillespie, the property is being offered for only the second time in 80 years.

Hunting and recreational aspect of the ranch offer excellent opportunities to harvest some of the largest southeastern Oklahoma Whitetail Deer. It features diverse terrain with elevation changes. The timber covered areas and mid-level bedding provide habitat for deer, turkey, and upland game. The many water sources offer great prospects for waterfowl and fishing adventures. Hiking, horseback riding, swimming, boating, and other activities are a natural fit for the area.

SOILS: The property has some Class II and Class III soils, with quite a bit of silty loam.

SURFACE WATER: Water will never be a need on this ranch. The ranch is estimated to have over 100 ponds and lakes ranging from 1/2 an acre up to 16 acres.  Multiple creeks run through the ranch, to include Flat Rock Creek, Wallace Creek and Coon Creek.

RANCH IMPROVEMENTS: The ranch offers an opportunity to take advantage and grow a commercial or premier cattle operation. There are multiple homes, shops, sheds, working pens, and other improvements.

OTHER INCOME:  In addition to agricultural aspects, the ranch produces income from a quarry operation that harvests natural stone for architectural construction projects throughout the country.
